UP IN THE SKY! IT'S A BIRD! IT'S A LION!

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Much to his relief, Griff did not need to use his wings to survive the 383-foot descent from the top of Michigan's tallest residential building.

Just after 7 a.m. on Friday, Griff took a confident step into the morning air high above downtown, becoming the first Grand Rapidian to make the 33-story rappel down the River House Condominiums and kicking-off the "Over the Edge" benefit for the Michigan Community Blood Centers.

Members of the general public who’ve donated a minimum of $1,000 will take their turn at this extreme rappelling experience from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6. Proceeds will support the Blood Center's Marrow/Stem Cell and Cord Blood programs.
