LONG TIME NO SEE

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Following a one-day stint with the parent club, center Mark Hartigan was assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins by the Detroit Red Wings on Friday.

Hartigan, 30, became the 87th Griffins alumnus to play in the NHL during Detroit’s 4-2 win over Tampa Bay last night, logging six shifts and 3:53 of ice time while winning both of his faceoffs.

First on Grand Rapids and tied for fourth in the AHL with 11 goals, Hartigan leads the club with five power play goals and is tied for second with 17 points through 20 games. He is expected to be in the Griffins’ lineup tonight when they visit the San Antonio Rampage at 8 p.m. EST. Coverage on Newsradio 1300 AM begins at 7:59 p.m.
