LEGACE TO SIGN AUTOGRAPHS TONIGHT!

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. Detroit Red Wings goaltender Manny Legace will be the special guest of the Grand Rapids Griffins during the NHLs Olympic break, as he will meet and sign autographs for fans prior to the Griffins game next Saturday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. versus the Manitoba Moose.

Legace, who appropriately played for both the Griffins and Moose during his last two minor league stints, will sign from 6-7 p.m. on the main floor of Van Andel Arena and drop the ceremonial puck prior to the showdown between the North Divisions top two teams.

Currently the NHLs top-ranked netminder with a 1.96 goals against average, Legace will also take part in a special 5-6 p.m. autograph session open only to group ticket purchasers. For more information or to place a group ticket order, please call (616) 774-4585 ext. 3002.

In addition, Griffins season ticket holders who arrive prior to 6 p.m. when Van Andel Arena opens its doors will receive preferential placement at the front of the autograph line, ahead of the general public.

Legace has been a key contributor to the Western Conference-leading Wings this season. His 24-6-2 record ties him for seventh in the NHL in wins, while his five shutouts (T2nd) and 0.921 save percentage (5th) also place him among the elite goalies. He established an NHL record for wins (10) by a goaltender in the month of October, when he was named the leagues defensive player of the month.

During a one-game conditioning assignment with the Griffins on Dec. 30, Legace made 20 saves and recorded an assist in a 7-2 victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs at Van Andel Arena.

Single tickets for the Feb. 18 game can be purchased at The Zone at Van Andel Arena and all Star Tickets Plus locations (including Meijer stores), by phone through Star Tickets Plus at (800) 585-3737, or online.
