TWO MOVES UP

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Monday recalled center Riley Sheahan from the Grand Rapids Griffins and reassigned Louis-Marc Aubry from the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye to their AHL affiliate.

Sheahan, 22, has recorded 14 points (6-8—14), a plus-four rating and 10 penalty minutes in 23 games with the Griffins during his second professional season. Detroit’s first choice (21st overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Sheahan has skated in 102 regular season games with Grand Rapids, tallying 52 points (23-29—52). A native of St. Catharines, Ontario, Sheahan appeared in all 24 games of the 2013 Calder Cup Playoffs and notched 16 points (3-13—16), tying for the AHL rookie lead and sixth overall in postseason points.

Aubry, 22, has appeared in one contest with the Griffins this season, posting five PIM and one shot on goal. The 6-foot-4, 213-pound forward has skated in 127 career games with Grand Rapids since 2011, registering 28 points (9-19—28) and 104 PIM. A native of Arthabaska, Quebec, Aubry set a career-high 60 PIM in 64 games and notched 12 points (4-8—12) during the 2012-13 season, when he won the Calder Cup with the Griffins. He has also played in nine games with the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye this season, notching five points (3-2—5) and six PIM.

The Wings will host the Anaheim Ducks at Joe Louis Arena tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m., when Sheahan will be available to play.

The Griffins (19-5-1-1) will hit the road this Wednesday for a showdown against the Iowa Wild at 8:05 p.m. EST at Wells Fargo Arena, when Aubry will be available to play.
