GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Friday reassigned forward Zach Nastasiuk to the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye from the Grand Rapids Griffins, while the Griffins released forward A.J. Jenks from his professional tryout and he will report to the Walleye.

Nastasiuk, 20, has appeared in 15 games with the Griffins and has recorded four assists and two penalty minutes.

Detroit’s second choice (48th overall) in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Nastasiuk has logged seven games in Toledo this season, tallying four goals, two assists and four PIM. The Barrie, Ontario, native has played in a total of 26 regular season games for the Griffins since 2013-14, also tacking on one assist in 11 games between the 2014 and 2015 Calder Cup Playoffs.

Jenks has played in five games for Grand Rapids and has accumulated two goals, one assist and five PIM. He scored a goal in his Griffins debut, a 5-3 win at Charlotte on Jan. 12.

Appearing in 33 games for the Walleye this season, Jenks ranks third on the team in points (11-14—25), including eight multi-point efforts, and has accumulated 32 penalty minutes.

Florida’s fourth choice (100th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Jenks split time between Toledo and the Charlotte Checkers during the 2014-15 campaign.

Winners in 22 of their last 27 games, the Griffins will host the Rochester Americans at Van Andel Arena tonight at 7 p.m.
