HOME OPENER SET FOR OCT. 10

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins will open the home portion of their 2014-15 season on Friday, Oct. 10 at Van Andel Arena, one of eight 2014-15 home dates that have been confirmed by the American Hockey League.

In addition to their home opener, the Griffins will host their 18th annual New Year’s Eve game on Wednesday, Dec. 31, as well as a game on Saturday, Jan. 24 that will lead into the 2015 Great Skate Winterfest, one of the team’s annual fundraisers for the Griffins Youth Foundation. Additional home dates include a Friday game on Feb. 20 and four other Saturday games – Jan. 10, Feb. 7, Feb. 21 and March 14.

Opponents and start times will be revealed later this summer, when the complete schedule for the AHL’s 79th season is released. It will mark the Griffins’ 14th year of AHL membership and 19th season overall.

Group tickets for the eight dates at Van Andel Arena are now on sale along with 2014-15 season ticket packages. Single-game tickets will go on sale to the public in September.
