GRIFFINS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Monday reassigned defenseman Gleason Fournier from the Grand Rapids Griffins to the Toledo Walleye (ECHL). Additionally, the Griffins today released forward Nick Oslund from his professional tryout and recalled defenseman Bryan Rufenach from Toledo.

Fournier, 20, skated in two games with Grand Rapids after being reassigned from Toledo on Thursday, recording a goal in his first game with the Griffins on Friday against San Antonio. The Rimouski, Quebec, native has posted eight points (1-7—8) in 12 games with the Walleye.

Oslund, 24, was signed to a tryout by Grand Rapids on Nov. 7. The Burnsville, Minn., native recorded one assist and two penalty minutes in five games with the team. He has one assist and 11 penalty minutes in six games with Toledo this season.

Rufenach, 22, rejoins the Griffins after being signed by the team on Sept. 13 and assigned to Toledo on Oct. 5. A seventh-round selection (208th overall) of the Red Wings in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Rufenach leads all ECHL defenseman with seven goals and is tied for the league lead with 11 points. He has recorded points in seven straight games for the Walleye while scoring goals in three of his last four outings. He recorded a four-goal game on Nov. 9 versus the Chicago Express.

Rufenach is expected to be in the lineup on Wednesday when the Griffins host the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available at griffinshockey.com.
