GRIFFINS FEATURED ON "WINGSPAN"

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - This week's edition of WINGSPAN on FOX Sports Detroit presents "Life as a Griffin," a behind-the-scenes look at the players, staff and fans of the Grand Rapids Griffins, the Detroit Red Wings' American Hockey League affiliate.

Host Trevor Thompson shows how the grooming starts in Grand Rapids and how the Griffins' hockey staff works closely with their colleagues in Detroit to make sure things are done the "Red Wings way." The episode features several of the current Griffins players who might see action in the NHL at some point this season, as well as a look at the "hockey culture" in West Michigan.

The episode, which was taped in Grand Rapids in mid-November, will debut this Friday, Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m., with additional weekend airings on Saturday (11 a.m.) and Sunday (8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.).
