GRIFFINS AND MOS HOST WISH LIST DRIVE THIS SATURDAY TO BENEFIT KIDS' FOOD BASKET

Commitment To Community-11.pngGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins, in partnership with Michigan Office Solutions (MOS), will hold a Wish List Drive this Saturday, April 14, prior to the 7 p.m. contest against Cleveland, that will benefit Kids’ Food Basket in West Michigan.

Fans are encouraged to bring these wish-list items to the Fulton Street plaza in front of Van Andel Arena from 5-7 p.m. (note that these are the only items that will be accepted):

  • Granola bars
  • Fruit or applesauce cups/pouches
  • Cracker packs
  • Snack-size zipper bags
  • Toasted oat cereal
  • Cheese crackers
  • Pretzels

Any fan who brings a food item from the list above or makes a $5 minimum cash donation on site will receive a coupon for a 21 oz. Pepsi product, redeemable at the arena’s concession stands during the game that night.

All items collected during the evening will be loaded onto an MOS truck as they are donated and will then be given to Kids’ Food Basket.

“Michigan Office Solutions (MOS) is excited to be a part of this Wish List Drive for Kids’ Food Basket with the Grand Rapids Griffins,” said Paul Hartley, president of MOS. “For over 60 years, MOS has had a commitment to community that extends throughout the state of Michigan. All children deserve good nutrition regardless of their circumstances and the children of Kent County need our help. MOS is fortunate enough to be in a position to raise awareness and together we can attack childhood hunger!”

Kids’ Food Basket serves approximately 8,000 kids at 45 schools in Grand Rapids, Muskegon and Holland. More than 250 volunteers each day help prepare, pack and deliver sack suppers, a well-rounded evening meal that provides nutrition critical to the development of the brain and body.

“A core philosophy of the Griffins organization is being a positive force in our community,” said the team’s vice president of corporate sales, Sean Wright. “Given the need Kids’ Food Basket has, we’re thankful that we have the opportunity to join with MOS and our fans to help out our youth in West Michigan.”
