GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Sunday recalled goaltender Tom McCollum from the Grand Rapids Griffins and reassigned goaltender Jordan Pearce to the Griffins from the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye.

McCollum, 23, has appeared in 17 games with the Griffins this season, showing a 10-6-1 record, a 2.69 goals against average, a 0.899 save percentage and one shutout. The Sanborn, N.Y., native ranks among the franchise’s all-time goaltending leaders with 99 games played (4th), 5,477:30 minutes (4th), 37 wins (7th) and 2,365 saves (4th). The fourth-year pro appeared in one NHL game with the Red Wings in 2010-11, making five saves in a relief effort on March 30, 2011 vs. St. Louis.

Pearce, 26, sports an 11-7-1 record in 20 contests with Toledo this season. The native of Anchorage, Alaska, places among ECHL goaltending leaders with a 2.56 goals against average (11th), a 0.906 save percentage (T16th), 11 wins (T16th) and two shutouts (T4th). The fourth-year pro has appeared in 72 career games with Grand Rapids, owning a 24-29-6 record with a 3.23 goals against average and two shutouts.

The Griffins will return to Grand Rapids for three home games in four nights this week. The team will host the Oklahoma City Barons on Wednesday and the Houston Aeros on Friday and Saturday. All games will start at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at griffinshockey.com.
