FRK REASSIGNED, NAGLE SIGNED TO PTO

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Detroit Red Wings on Monday reassigned right wing Martin Frk from the Grand Rapids Griffins to the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye. In addition, the Griffins signed goaltender Pat Nagle to a professional tryout.

Frk, 21, has scored one goal in eight contests with Grand Rapids this season. Detroit’s first choice (49th overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Frk has spent a majority of this season with Toledo, where the forward ranks seventh on the team in scoring with 22 points (11-11—22) in 17 games. A native of Pelhrimov, Czech Republic, Frk earned 12 points (3-9—12) in 50 games with the Griffins and 13 points (5-8—13) in 15 games with the Walleye last season.

Prior to turning pro, Frk spent three seasons with the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL, where he registered 163 points (73-90—163) in 152 games with the club. In the 2012-13 season, he produced 84 points (35-49—84) in 56 regular season games for the Mooseheads en route to capturing the QMJHL’s President Cup and the CHL Memorial Cup.

Nagle, 27, owns a 2.42 goals against average alongside a 0.910 save percentage and a 17-4-1 record in 22 games with the ECHL’s Fort Wayne Komets this season. The Bloomfield, Mich., native has also appeared in one game with the Rochester Americans on Jan. 3, when he made 39 saves on 42 shots in a 4-0 loss to the Adirondack Flames. Before joining the professional ranks, Nagle spent four seasons at Ferris State University from 2007-11 and accumulated a 2.32 GAA and a 45-42-11 record.

Grand Rapids will begin a three-game week on the road with a tilt against the Utica Comets on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
