Nicastro, 24, has skated in 58 games with the Walleye this season, garnering 16 points (0-16—16) and 28 PIM. A native of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Nicastro appeared in 25 games with Grand Rapids last season, posting three points (1-2—3) and 10 PIM. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound defenseman was Detroit’s third choice (91st overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
