Griffins to Host 'Women in Sports' Panel Discussion

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins will host a “Women in Sports” panel discussion on Friday, April 14 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the banquet rooms at Van Andel Arena, prior to the Griffins’ regular-season home finale against the Rockford IceHogs.

Olympic referee Sara Strong, Grand Valley State University athletic director Keri Becker, Olympic gold medalist Lisa Brown-Miller, and head coach of West Michigan Pro Volleyball Cathy George and moderator will be featured on the panel. This event is designed for athletic teams, athletes, and coaches in West Michigan who are interested in learning about their experiences, the importance of women’s participation in sports, and the challenges that women face in the industry.
