The Griffins become Western Conference champions and earn their second trip to the Calder Cup Finals in five years with a 4-2 win over San Jose, improving to 7-0 at home during the playoffs. Brian Lashoff puts Grand Rapids ahead just 24 seconds into the game, Matt Lorito scores a pair of goals to turn a 2-1 lead into a 4-1 cushion, and Jared Coreau makes 39 saves to improve to 11-2 in the postseason. The Barracuda’s season ends with three consecutive regulation losses, a first for them during the entire 2016-17 regular season and playoffs. (Photos)

Seventeen former Griffins head to the Stanley Cup Finals, as Detroit’s 2-1 overtime win against Chicago gives the Red Wings a 4-1 victory in the Western Conference Finals. With 16 Grand Rapids alumni on Detroit’s roster -- including overtime hero Darren Helm -- joining Pittsburgh’s Mark Eaton, it guarantees that at least one Grand Rapids alum will have his name engraved on the Stanley Cup for the fourth time in the last five seasons.
