Current Griffin Tomas Tatar and alumnus Tomas Kopecky win silver with Slovakia at the IIHF World Championship, helping their country earn its first medal since 2003. The 21-year-old Tatar, the youngest player on Slovakia’s roster, tied for sixth in team scoring with five points (2-3—5) in 10 contests, while Kopecky led Slovakia with five goals.

Milwaukee nets two shorthanded goals – the most ever for an opponent at Van Andel Arena – and Pekka Rinne stops 41 of 42 shots to guide the Admirals to a 2-1 win and a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals. While out-shooting the visitors 42-25, the Griffins out-gun them 20-7 during the second to tie a franchise record for shots in a playoff period, but Rinne’s 20 saves are the most ever for an opposing netminder during a playoff stanza.
