Fresh off winning the Eddie Shore Award as the AHL’s outstanding defenseman, Niklas Kronwall is named to the tournament all-star team at the IIHF World Championship in Austria after scoring six points and helping Sweden to a fourth-place finish. Others selected to the impressive sextet include future Hall of Famer Jaromir Jagr, four-time NHL All-Star Joe Thornton, and 2003-04 NHL goal-scoring leader Rick Nash.
