Eddie Pasquale turns away 37 shots for his fourth shutout of the season, a 4-0 victory at Rockford. It marks the Griffins' eighth shutout on the campaign, their most in a single season since the 2008-09 edition blanked nine opponents. (Photos)

Fresh off his junior year at Maine, Gustav Nyquist makes his pro debut with the Griffins in a 5-3 loss at Texas. He goes on to win a Calder Cup and notch 143 points in 137 games over his four seasons in Grand Rapids, becoming one of only 10 players to average more than a point per game for his Griffins career. Darren Haydar scores the 200th goal of his pro career but the Griffins fall 5-3 at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Just 55 seconds into the final frame, Ben Simon tallies the Griffins’ 22nd shorthanded goal of the season, setting a franchise record that dated to the 1998-99 season. But the Griffins fall to the Marlies 5-3 as another franchise record is set for power plays against with Toronto being awarded 15, surpassing the old record of 13 set on Dec. 9, 2005 in Milwaukee.

Grand Rapids ties a franchise mark with its ninth straight win, 4-1 over Rochester. Jimmy Howard makes a season-high 40 saves to extend his team-record winning streak to 10 games. In addition, Alexandre Giroux becomes the 80th Griffins alumnus to play in the NHL as a member of the New York Rangers, who become the record 18th NHL team this season to have a former Griffin play for them.

March 25, 2005
Tying a team record by making his 15th straight start, Joey MacDonald records 47 saves in a 3-2 shootout win over Houston. Matt Ellis forces overtime by scoring with just 27.8 seconds remaining. Raymond Giroux’s successful penalty shot for the Aeros marks the first such goal ever allowed by the Griffins.
