Joey MacDonald’s 26 saves give the Griffins their third straight shutout of Cincinnati, a 1-0 decision before a sold-out crowd at Van Andel Arena. The win is the 20th of the season for MacDonald, who becomes the sixth different goalie in franchise history to reach the milestone, and secures the Griffins’ fifth consecutive 40-win season.

Despite yielding a regular season team-record 53 shots and firing an all-time franchise-low 14 attempts of their own, the Griffins escape Houston with an improbable 2-1 win. Marc Lamothe’s 52 saves destroy a regular season franchise record, and his 24 saves during the third period alone set an overall team mark for most in a frame.
