For the first time in their playoff history the Griffins lose a game in which they hold a three-goal lead, as Hamilton ties the North Division Semifinals with a 4-3 overtime win in Game 4. Down 3-0 with just over 12 minutes remaining in regulation, the Bulldogs score a shorthanded goal and two power play tallies in a span of only 3:29 to force overtime, and Ryan White’s centering pass 2:42 into the extra session deflects off a Griffin’s stick and into the net. Hamilton’s victory, the fourth straight for the road team in the series, snaps Grand Rapids’ streak of five consecutive overtime wins during the postseason.
