Harri Sateri makes 29 saves in his AHL playoff debut, providing Ben Simon his first postseason win as a head coach in the league. The Griffins earn their fourth straight playoff win against the Wolves and send Chicago to its seventh consecutive postseason loss, with both streaks dating to their clash in the 2017 Central Division Finals. Grand Rapids drops Game 1 of the North Division Semifinals 1-0 at Manitoba, as Jimmy Howard’s 28 stops are trumped by former Griffin Drew MacIntyre’s perfect 23-save effort. The Griffins’ third straight road playoff loss ties a franchise record, as they lose a 1-0 playoff game for the first time in three years and suffer their seventh consecutive one-goal loss to the Moose, dating to the third meeting of the 2006-07 regular season.
