April 16, 2005
A 6-2 home loss to San Antonio eliminates the Griffins from playoff contention for just the second time ever and the first time since 1999. Former Ferris State netminder Phil Osaer faces a Griffins-record 58 shots and sets an opponent mark by making 56 saves. Kip Miller becomes just the sixth player to record 50 career goals as a Griffin.

Despite Kevin Miller’s hat trick, the first for the Griffins in the playoffs in three years, Grand Rapids drops a heartbreaking 4-3 decision in overtime to Chicago in Game 1 of the West Division Semifinals. Trailing 3-2 with time running out, the Wolves tie the game with 10.8 seconds left in regulation, then win it with a shorthanded goal just 58 seconds into overtime. Jiri Hudler ties a franchise playoff record with three assists.

April 16, 2003
Following an 11-day layoff, the Griffins begin their second Calder Cup Playoffs as the top seed in the Western Conference Quarterfinals, taking a 3-1 win over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in Game 1. Grand Rapids’ defense sets franchise playoff records with one shot allowed during the second period and 16 shots allowed for the game (tied).

April 16, 2000
Grand Rapids finishes the regular season with the best record in the history of pro hockey in the city, as a 4-2 win over Detroit gives the Griffins a 51-22-9 record and 111 points. The Griffins take momentum into the postseason after winning eight of their last nine games and 12 of their final 14 contests.
