GRIFFINS ANNOUNCE PRESEASON SCHEDULE
Game Against Cleveland to Take Place Near Lansing on Oct. 1
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Tuesday announced their 2005-06 preseason schedule.
After opening training camp on Friday, Sept. 23, Grand Rapids will begin its preseason slate with a pair of road games. On Wednesday, Sept. 28, the Griffins will visit the Milwaukee Admirals for an 8 p.m. EDT faceoff at the Mullett Ice Center in Hartland, Wisc. Theyll head south the following night to take on the Chicago Wolves in an 8 p.m. EDT start at the West Meadows Ice Arena in Rolling Meadows, Ill. Tickets for both games will be available at the door on game night ($10 in Milwaukee, $6 in Chicago).
The Griffins will complete their docket by welcoming the Cleveland Barons to the Lansing area for the second consecutive year. The preseason finale is set for Saturday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. at The Summit in Dimondale, Mich., located off I-96 at exit 98B. Tickets, priced at $5 for adults and $3 for kids 18 and younger, are available at the door that night or by calling 517-319-1000.
Grand Rapids will kick off its 10th anniversary season at home on Saturday, Oct. 8 versus Milwaukee. Game time at Van Andel Arena is set for 7 p.m.
Group tickets for all home games, along with full season, 20-game, 10-game and five-game ticket packages, are currently available by calling the Griffins at (616) 774-4585 or (800) 2-HOCKEY. Single-game tickets will go on sale to the public in mid-September.
