Tyler Spezia split his second pro season between the Griffins and ECHL’s Walleye. He notched nine points in 22 games for Grand Rapids and 20 points in 21 appearances for Toledo.

2 – Spezia netted his first two-goal game in the AHL on Jan. 3 and earned first-star honors as Grand Rapids won 5-3 at San Antonio. Jan. 3 marked his 15th career AHL appearance.
4 – Spezia made his AHL season debut on Dec. 4
vs. Chicago. Beginning the season with the Walleye, he was recalled or
assigned by Grand Rapids a total of four times.
6 – During a season-high six-game point streak he went on with the Walleye from Nov. 22-Dec. 7, Spezia banked nine points (5-4—9). He logged a four-game assist streak from Nov. 23-Dec. 1 and goals in back-to-back-to-back contests from Nov. 30-Dec. 7.
8:44 – Spezia scored the game-winning goal at the 8:44 mark of the third period on Feb. 18 at Rockford to break a 1-1 deadlock against the IceHogs. The tally marked the first leg of back-to-back games lighting the lamp as he recorded Grand Rapids’ first goal in a 3-2 victory at Chicago two days later.
11 – Spezia was one of 11 Walleye players with a double-digit goal total.
30 – The 5-foot-10, 180-pound forward has skated in 30 games with the Griffins since making his AHL debut with the club on Dec. 16, 2018 at Rockford. Spezia has totaled 11 points (7-4—11), a plus-two rating and 18 PIM for Grand Rapids.
100 – The former Bowling Green State Falcon played in his 100th professional game on Jan. 18 vs. Belleville. Spezia has tallied 11 points (7-4—11) in 30 AHL games with the Griffins and 59 points (21-38—59) in 78 ECHL appearances with the Walleye.
0.95 – Among Walleye players with 20 or more games played, Spezia’s 0.95 points/game ranked fifth on the team.
23.8% – Spezia’s 23.8 shooting percentage ranked second in the ECHL, trailing only teammate Gregor MacLeod’s 30.0%. He deposited 10 goals while attempting 42 shots.
